Who are we?
Tulling Meat Import B.V. was founded in 2012 by Danny Tulling, who has built more than 35 years of experience in the meat industry, with a strong focus on the import of beef from South America.
Over the years, Thom Fens joined the company as a partner, bringing another generation of experience into the business. His family has been active in the international meat trade for a combined 80 years, with his grandfather being among the early Dutch importers of South American beef.
Shortly afterwards, Sebastiaan Geldof joined the company. Before joining Tulling Meat Import, he gained valuable experience working for several other meat importers, building a strong background within the international meat trade.
With more than 20 years of experience in logistics, Sebastiaan has extensive knowledge of the operational and logistical processes involved in importing and distributing meat throughout Europe. He has now been involved with Tulling Meat Import for more than 12 years, with his main responsibility focused on the company’s complete logistics operation. Thanks to his experience, operational knowledge and long-standing involvement with the business, Sebastiaan is also an important member of the management team.
Beyond the owners and management, Tulling Meat Import is supported by a dedicated team that manages the entire operation on a daily basis. This includes our finance and administration team, commercial team and logistics staff, all working closely together to ensure that every part of the process runs efficiently — from purchasing and documentation to transport, storage, sales and delivery.
In addition to our headquarters in the Netherlands, we also have an office in Germany with its own commercial team, allowing us to maintain close relationships with customers in the German market and further strengthen our presence across Europe.
Today, Tulling Meat Import has grown into an experienced and dedicated team with extensive knowledge of sourcing, importing and distributing beef throughout Europe.
Our office is located close to the Port of Rotterdam, one of Europe’s most important logistics hubs, and only around 30 minutes from our cold storage facility. This strategic location allows us to stay close to both the port and our products, ensuring efficient logistics, short communication lines and reliable service.

… to the Port of Rotterdam
All our South American beef arrives in Europe through the Port of Rotterdam, one of the world’s leading logistics hubs and the ideal gateway for distribution throughout Europe. Thanks to our location, experience and close relationships with logistics partners, we keep the supply chain short and efficient. After arrival in Rotterdam, the meat is transported under strict temperature-controlled conditions to our cold storage facility located close to the port.
Quality control at every step
At the cold store, each shipment is carefully inspected by qualified professionals. The products are checked for quality, condition, documentation and compliance before being released for further distribution. In addition, official controls and sampling may be carried out by the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) as part of the applicable European food safety and import requirements.
This combination of professional quality control, temperature monitoring and official supervision helps ensure that our imported beef meets the high standards expected by our customers throughout Europe.
Prepared for distribution across Europe
Once the products have been cleared and inspected, they are palletised and prepared for onward distribution. From Rotterdam, we supply customers throughout Europe with chilled and frozen beef in a fast and reliable way. Our logistics team coordinates transport, documentation and delivery requirements, allowing us to serve wholesalers, foodservice companies, butchers, retailers and supermarket organisations across multiple European markets.
Because we work closely with retail and supermarket customers, we can also prepare products for specific retail requirements. This includes providing EAN barcodes, product labels and customer-specific information in the required language, helping our customers move products efficiently into their own distribution and retail networks.
Experienced in international beef export
Exporting meat beyond the European Union requires detailed knowledge of customs procedures, veterinary requirements and local import regulations.
Our experienced logistics team maintains short lines of communication with the relevant authorities and logistics partners in markets including the United Kingdom, Norway, the Faroe Islands and Madeira. This enables us to manage the additional documentation, certification and transport requirements involved in supplying these destinations. From vessel arrival and cold storage to quality control, labelling and final delivery, Tulling Meat Import manages the process with one clear objective: to get premium South American beef to our customers safely, efficiently and in excellent condition.
